About Us
The Fraser Coast Wildlife Sanctuary was originally established as a training centre for youth in agricultural practice and later morphed into the Sanctuary we have today.
Run entirely by volunteers who are committed to the ongoing wellbeing of the animals in our charge, the Sanctuary is now home to over 200 native birds, mammals and reptiles. Our animals include those retired from zoos or wildlife parks and rescued or surrendered native pets that are unable to be released.
By providing a home for these animals we are also able to provide the visiting public an opportunity to get up close and appreciate some of Australia’s diverse wildlife.
